Summary of June 26, 2002 Chapter Governing Board Meeting
Chapter Annual Public Service Awards Banquet: The attendees agreed that the Awards Banquet was a success. Although the final accounting has not yet been completed, it is expected that the Banquet resulted in a net profit for the Chapter. Mr. Ciaccio suggested that we consider holding the 2003 Chapter Awards Banquet earlier in the year, perhaps holding it during Public Service Recognition Week (the first week in May, 2003). Mr. Meyer suggested that we promote the awards nomination process at all Chapter Program Events; flyers regarding the nomination criteria should be distributed to the attendees.
National ASPA Elections: Mr. Ciaccio said that Ed Falterman has decided to seek a recommendation from the Chapter in a bid for a nomination for the National ASPA Council Member Election for District 1. Since Dawn Roberts has also expressed an interest in running for this position, Mr. Ciaccio will request both potential candidates to submit candidate statements to him. Mr. Ciaccio will then e-mail these statements to the Governing Board members for a secret ballot via e-mail reply as to which candidate the Chapter should provide with a recommendation.
Program Events: Mr. Ciaccio will request that Governing Board members come to the next scheduled Board Meeting prepared with ideas and proposals for Program Events for the coming 2002 - 2003 Program Year. He would like each Governing Board member to act as the coordinator for a program event.
Next Governing Board Meeting: Mr. Ciaccio tentatively scheduled the next Governing Board Meeting for Thursday, 07/18/2002 at his apartment on East 21st Street, Manhattan.
[The Meeting was an informal Dinner-Meeting that convened at circa 6:15 PM and adjourned at circa 7:30 PM. The meeting was held at Hon Wong Restaurant (Canal Street, Manhattan). Governing Board Attendees: Ms. Alexander, Mr. Ciaccio, Mr. Jameson, and Mr. Meyer. There was not a quorum present and no official business was transacted.]
